Hello all, today is Harvey Milk Day!! This holiday was made to commemorate the life and activism of Harvey Milk. This day was picked to celebrate his life because on this day Harvey Milk was born. He moved to San Francisco from New York during the gay migration after the Stonewall Riots in Greenwich Village. He rallied for reform in his camera shop in the Castro, and soon became the first openly gay politician in America. Sadly, he was assassinated in his office and the Queer Rights Movement lost one of its heroes. Harvey continues to be an inspiration to queer people about the world and we look to him as a sign of hope. Below you can hear his speech on hope and hopefully will be inspired.
Hello everyone!! Tomorrow is the International Day Against Homophobia so be sure to speak out against any anti-queer slurs that you may here and represent the MHS GSA Club well!! Keep being awesome y'all and stay safe~ <3
